How would you describe your current role and the biggest challenges you face?

I'm overseeing both our internal and external marketing for clients. And of course leading our team of marketers supported by designers. Plus being the PO for a large International renewable energy company.

What is a common misconception about the work you do?

That it's not primarily about creating advertisements, when in reality it involves strategic planning, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination to drive business growth and meet customer needs.

How did you get started in your marketing career?

I started with my own business, sold it after some years and then build up marketing departments in various companies and industries in Europe and moved on to Asia to take on a bigger challenges - especially when it comes to cultural differences in multi cultural companies.

Describe the most impactful marketing campaign/project you've personally worked on.

Is it a cliche to say that all marketing campaigns has been impactful? hah!

One of the most interesting projects have been digitalizing a IT sales company moving from an offline sales workforce to a digital and automated workforce, with automizing many areas of marketing but also organizational optimization and automating. This lead to a little fear from the BD and Accounting in the beginning until they saw how much time and effort they saved and they could focus on what really matters.

What is one marketing trend or change you're not convinced will work for SEA tech brands?

Chatbot automation for customer service seems to be of a really low quality in SEA. Especially when it comes to personalization.

What is one marketing trend or change that you hope to see more of at SEA tech brands? And, why?

I'm mostly into using lots of data to make data-driven decisions and use datasets for personalized campaigns. So this is obviously an area that I hope to see more of. But looking at the trend alone in Thailand, where I'm located, I see a huge shift in the past two years.

Previously not many companies knew about MarTech but that has really changed. Now everyone is asking for CDP, CEP etc. but without actually knowing what it exactly is and how they defer from each other besides from being a buzzword.

What is your favourite marketing resource that you would recommend to this community? And, why?

Generally networking in person is the best for sharing or obtaining new trends and knowledge. But I really like what NewCampus has been doing, this is definetly interesting. Also because it gathers like-minded peers across countries which is not so easy with a packed schedule.

Lastly, where are you based, and where would you take friends visiting your city for the first time?

In Bangkok, Thailand. Unlike the most that would take people to skybars I would rather bring friends to the local side of Bangkok or Thailand in general to get the real authentic experience. Then, next on the list would be the more touristy places that everyone just have to see.
