How would you describe your current role to a HR outsider?
My role predominantly revolves around creating a positive experience for our current and future employees. I sit within the HR team but my role requires me to work with HR and the marketing team.
What is a common misconception about the work you do?
That employer branding is a marketing role. It does require marketing expertise, but because my audiences are mainly current and future employees, that is why it makes more sense for the role to be within the HR team.
How did you get started in your HR career?
I studied Interior Design and started my career as an Interior Designer for about 2 years before I left. I was then approached by a friend to join a recruitment company. Thought of taking the job as a "surviving job", I ended up liking it and here I am still within HR 9 years later.
Describe the most impactful HR project you've personally worked on.
Probably the Employer Branding Strength Assessment that we created to assess our clients and companies. It was a thorough assessment that we created and have been using for our clients and companies. It was impactful because every employer branding strength assessment presented to the clients put them on the edge of their seats and I got to be creative to find solutions to all their employer branding problems.
What is one HR/future of work trend or change that you hope to see more of at SEA startups?

What is your favourite HR resource that you would recommend to this community?
